Computer Sick

I am sorry that there is no picture today, my computer decided it was not feeling well and so I have had to send it off to my computer doctor.  Hopefully he will be able to perform some magical miracle and get it back up and running soon!  I know there will be a lecture that I will have to hear, as I am horrible about backing up my files!  In the mean time I hope you continue to be inspired and let your creativity flow.

Swimsuit

Okay I've been busy working on lots of different projects, I promise I will post them as soon as I finish!  I did however take some time out to create this cute card.  I know Winter is upon us, but I'm wishing for Summer!  This was created by using scraps of  paper.

Unhurried Time

It is amazing where you sometimes find your inspiration.  I was looking through my husbands tool area (finding items for another project) SHHHH don't tell him, when I came upon these amazing little metal caps and holders.  What their true purpose was originally used for I have no idea but to me they looked like buttons!
Knowing that I had the perfect stamp for it, I raced up to my craft room and this
is what I came up with.
First i inked up the background with dark blue ink, used glimmer mist to spray the background, using a distress pebble stamp I inked it with a medium blue and also blended around the edges.  The sentiment was inked and embossed with the same dark blue as the card base.  I stamped the images in archival black ink  and put a bit of crackle on the watch faces.  The watches also received a bit of silver along their edges.  The butterflies I stamped on shimmer paper and cut out.  The last item that I put on this card was the thing that inspired it.  The found metal button!!

Damask Goodbye

Did you ever notice there is no dark sympathy cards?  Right now I am dealing with a loved one preparing to die and I did not feel like making a "happy" card.  Making cards is very therapetic for me, and knowing that I will need this one, I decided to make it a bit more personal.  The dark background is to acknowledge the mourning that I know we will go through, the rose is a reminder of the wonderful roses that grew like wildfire in their yard and the homemade pressed flower paper is representing how they made a lot of things homemade and also a bit of hope that life will eventually be bright again.
Now onto how it was created....
The background was embossed and using a clear embossing ink and black embossing powder, rubbed over the raised edges then heat set.  The oval is a spellbinder, the rose is Tim Holtz tattered floral die, and the leaves are a punch.  A few pearls finish it off.

A Work in Progress

I'm sorry there is no card today.  As you can see, I've been busy creating something that I just can not pull myself away from.  I promise as soon as I finish this I will post a video showing it off.

Mr. Melty

Usually by this time, we are covered with snow.  This year looks to be a bit different, there is no snow on the ground!  To celebrate this, (I do not like driving in that white stuff) I made a melting snowman.  I took from my scrap pile the cardstock, and ribbon.  To make the snowman, I used the spellbinders circles.

Sparkling Penguins

Yes, I know another sticker card, but I just love how cute these penguins looked.  I added some snowflake stickers, a few snow dots using stickes and with vellum I made a slippery slope but before attaching it I put a few fish underneath.

Winter Blues

I fell in love with this paper line from BoBunny and just had to use all of it.  With my scraps I cut them down in size and did the same with the squares.  Using a spellbinder I made the oval label, stamped it and attached a light blue ribbon behind it.

Musical Snowflakes

Sorry for the lateness of this post.  I have been busy helping with my grandfather who was just released from the hospital after a long stay.
Since we just had a our first heavy dose of snow, I thought this card was perfect.
It is made with light blue cardstock, some snowflake stickers and fringe yarn.  I found some old musical buttons that I attached, covered the outer edges with frosted lace stickles to add to the snow look and adhered a snowflake sticker on the top section of it.  When you push it, it will play
"White Christmas".
