Industrial Tag

Today we are celebrating my sons birthday, he is all into legos so look later on in the week for pics!  In the meantime let me show you another tag that I made form the Tim Holtz book.  This would be perfect for the man in your life.  Remember fathers day is just around the corner!

It is not photographing well, but it says Metal, the "L" doesn't want to show up in the pic.  I made this by adding some screen repair tape to the tag, and covered it with squares of metal foil tape then just added a bit of distress here and there.  I also covered it with paint, let it sit a bit then wiped off to get the black look.  Hope you like it.  FYI tags, and metal is a hint towards the next make and tag!!

Here is an update on my homemade laundry detergent.  I made this soap back in February and just finished the last load with it.  For under $20.00 I think it was a good plan.  I could of made it last longer but I did a few big loads that I did three scoops instead.  I think I'm a fan of this and plan on making it again.

Garden Creation

I just had to share with you my creation that I made.  While searching www.pinterest.com I came across some amazing concrete busts that had flowers for hair.  They were beautiful but way out of my price range so I looked to my local craft store and found a styrofoam head.  After my wonderful hubby helped to hollow it out, and my amazing mom helped pick out the perfect hair, I went to work. To get the "stone" look, all I did was purchase the stone spray paint, filled it with potting soil and added the flowers, now all I have to do is add some moss on her to age her a bit and I think she is good to go!  The head was ~3.00 due to a coupon, the paint was ~5.00 and the flowers were under 10.00.

Vintage Travel

Here is another card that we will be doing at the Make n Take at Scrapbook101 on Saturday, May 26th.  I have not stamped a saying yet in the middle, but I just had to show you how it turned out.  I love the vintage feel that this card has and it is not frilly so it would be perfect for that special guy in your life.... remember Father's Day is coming up!

Life is proving to be very hectic with me in school full time and now working full time away from the home that I have decided to change the schedule of my posts to only the weekends.  So I will be posting now on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.  If there is something that I just can't wait to share with you,
I will post that during the week.
Todays posting is of another tag that I made from the Tim Holtz book its the alcohol splatter technique.
What can I say, I've been seeing butterflies fluttering all over these days and just had to include one in on this tag.

Mother's Day

Sorry I've been MIA for the last few days.  Just started a new job and am trying to figure out how to juggle everything.  This past weekend was Mother's Day so let me show you the cards I created for my mothers.
This card was made for my Mother in Law.  I used the CLD doily diecut, and used a border punch on some decorative paper, distressed the edges of some more decorative paper and also used some glossy accent in the middle of the "frame" to look like glass.  Some fabric for a flower and this card is complete.
This card was for my mom who loves to wear bling glasses.  I saw this in a magazine and had to put my own spin on it.  A CLD doily, some dyed crinkle ribbon, another fabric flower and the Tim Holtz banner die for the saying.

Shabby Chic

This is another entry that I am putting in the challenge from The Corrosive Challenge Blog.  The theme was anything created using Tim Holtz products.  For this tag I used his metal tags, brads, and metal crown, The tag was also created on grunge paper and the edges were distressed using his paper distresser.

Rusted Grunge

This week I am participating in the Corrosive Challenge Blog.  The challenge was to do anything using Tim Holtz products.  This tag was created using  the rusted grunge technique from his first book.  Items of his used were grunge paper, distress embossing powder, distress inks, key and keyhole die cuts, brads, textured hammer, jumprings, alcohol inks, embossing folder, and paper distresser.

Inking Grunge

Today the weather is not the greatest over here, lots of gloomy clouds with the promise of rain.  Why is it whenever the weather tends to be nasty.... you have time to accomplish all your errands??
This tag reminds me of the gloomy skies and the collage stamp in the background represents all the things that are on my to do list, keeping with my resolution to stay positive the ribbon on the top live laugh love, the bright white frilly ribbon and the pearls helps to bring some "brightness" into an otherwise gloomy tag.

Wrinkle Free

This is another tag that I love from Tim Holtz first book.  I think its perfect for Mother's Day.  I bit of classy words for the background, some tulle, pearls, ribbon and beautiful flower finish it off.  I am entering this tag in the cuttlebug spot challenge.
