Halloween Album

As promised here is my finished Paper Bag Halloween Album!
I found this tutorial on a wonderful blog called The Paper Trail.
To make the front I used some foam board for the covers, left over muslin that I dyed with glimmer mist sprays, cork hinges, keys, and keyhole were cut froma tim holtz die, I then inked the diecuts with black ink and used stampendous frantage aged silver, and aged gold embossing powder.  A few stampin up brads, some chain and the cover was done.
The first page.  It has a pocket for tags, and also a larger pocket (paper bag opening) by the ghost for a picture tag.

The second page. You can see the ribbons on the left hand side, those are the tags that you can pull out.  The flap (witch/bug) are the bottom of the bag.
Here is the Third page, lots of pumpkins and the fourth page is full of spiders with a tag peeking out as well.

The last two pages are of the Raven and a mourning umbrella.
Here is the back of the book, just like the front it has a little pocket to hold tags.
I will try to get a video up explaining in better detail how this was created!  Hope you liked it.

but I truly love watching nature switch gears
and get ready for
the new season

Altered Matchbox

I came across a site where someone had created a chest of drawers out of matchboxes and I fell in love!  A quick trip to the store to purchase some kitchen matches and I was ready to start altering!  I lined all the boxes with the same paper as what is on the front of the drawer, added some locks and keys for pulls, a bit of gathered satin black ribbon for the bottom, a few left over wooden knobs painted black, the tim holtz swirl die done on grungepaper and stained with this distress stains and to add a bit of shimmer I sprayed them with my homemade misters, to finish it a few metal corners.  I love the way this turned out!
Here is a side view of this chest of drawers with the drawer pulled out a bit.  I am planning on using this to store some embellishments!  Who would of known a few pieces of foam board (for the sides, bottom, back and top) and kitchen matchboxes could be so beautiful?

Altered Story Mousetrap

I have been working on altering a few items around my home.
Here is the first completed project!
Originally it was a mousetrap but with a little bit of metal tape, some embossing, a few alcohol inks, and just a couple of embellishments....
I've turned it into a magnet that will hold lots of papers due to the hinged clamp!
